Suture Express adding distribution space in Lenexa, office space in Overland Park

Rapidly growing medical distribution company Suture Express announced today that it will be expanding its operations to Lenexa and Overland Park.

The company, current based at 11691 West 85th Street in Lenexa, will be moving its distribution operations to the Meritex Lenexa Executive Park at 17501 West 98th Street and will move its office staff to King Street Plaza at 11020 King Street in Overland Park.

Suture Express started in Johnson County 14 years ago and moved to its current Lenexa location in 2004. The company is the nation’s leading specialty distributor of specialized surgical products. Its highly focused and differentiated service model enables healthcare providers to improve the quality of patient care by delivering them the right product at the right place and time at the lowest possible cost. The company has clients nationwide and has sales in the hundreds of millions annually.

”We are pleased to be in a position of needing additional space to accommodate our growth and are excited about the benefits both the Meritex and King Street facilities will provide to Suture Express,” Brian Forsythe, the company’s CEO. “We also appreciate the partnership with the state of Kansas through this process in helping to keep our Kansas-born company here in Johnson County.”

“We are delighted that Suture Express has chosen to stay and grow in Lenexa and Johnson County,” said Blake Schreck, president of the Lenexa Chamber of Commerce. “Suture Express is a true success story and the kind of high quality company that we are proud to have in our community.”

The company plans to lease 30,000 square feet at Meritex initially, growing to 48,000 square feet within three years.

“I want to congratulate Suture Express on its continued success,” said Kansas Commerce Secretary Pat George. “I’m glad that a home grown company has decided to expand its presence in Kansas.”
