KANSASWORKS to hold second statewide virtual career fair

KANSASWORKS will host its second statewide virtual career fair on March 20 in conjunction with Convergys Corp., a global leader in relationship management. The company continues to hire home-based customer service agents in Kansas who can handle client telephone calls, web chats and e-mail inquiries for a variety of Convergys clients.

“Convergys remains active in hiring substantial numbers of home-based agents for a growing client list,” said Kansas Commerce Secretary Pat George. “Since it began hiring, the company has employed well in excess of 100 home-based agents from Kansas and continues to seek qualified workers from our state.”

WHAT: Home agent career fair for Convergys Corp., sponsored by KANSASWORKS.

WHEN/WHERE: Two sessions will be offered: 9 a.m. and noon, March 20. Job seekers should plan to visit one of the following KANSASWORKS Workforce Centers to participate: Dodge City, Garden City, Great Bend, Hays, Hutchinson, Lawrence, Manhattan, Salina and Topeka (9 a.m. session only). The E-Center in Phillipsburg also will participate in the career fair. The center is located at 205 F. Street (in the Fischer Building), Phillipsburg, Kan. 67661.

In addition, job seekers can participate from home via the Internet. For the 9 a.m. session, go to, and type a name in the “Guest” field to join. For the noon session, go to, and type a name in the “Guest” field to join.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Job seekers visiting a Workforce Center are encouraged to dress appropriately. CONVERGYS HOME AGENT INFORMATION: Home agent positions include salary, health benefits, flexible scheduling and paid training. Home agents will provide customer service support for various Convergys clients. The pay is $9 per hour plus incentives, and employees working more than 20 hours per week are eligible for benefits, including medical, dental and vision insurance, as well as tuition reimbursement.

Agents must meet certain home office standards to be considered, including a quiet place to work inside their home, a personal computer that meets Convergys’ minimum standards, high-speed Internet access and a noise-canceling headset. A complete list of technical requirements can be found at
