The Individual Development Account (IDA) is an asset-building strategy established to promoteself-sufficiency through asset-development for low-income Kansans in a matched-savingsprogram. Approximately $500,000 in tax credits has been allocated and will be awarded thisyear to selected community-based organizations.

The tax credits will be used to leverage donations that will serve as a match for individualsavings in a development account. Savings accrued in IDAs will be used for home ownership,residence repairs, business capitalization and post-secondary education.
