Kiowa County is home to many unique attractions. The Big Well, the world’s largest hand dug well, is located in Greensburg. This well was completed in 1888 as a water source for the city and now serves as a tourist attraction for those across the country. Outside of Mullinville, you’ll find the Fromme-Birney Round Barn built in 1912 that is now open for tours and special events. South of Haviland is a meteorite field along with the Kansas Meteorite Museum and Nature Center. Here you can learn about meteorites and see fragments of the Brenham Meteorite that dates back to the late 1800s.

For those looking for outdoor recreation, Kiowa County has many opportunities.  For the hunter, several farmers/ranchers have facilities which accommodate hunting parties, guided or otherwise. North Bridge Outdoor Adventures offers guided and semi-guided hunts for whitetail and mule deer, pheasant, quail, dove and prairie dogs. There are also acres and acres of CRP land to explore.

Greensburg also has Cannonball Golf Course, a nine-hole course, Kiowa State Fishing Lake and the Kiowa County Commons on Main Street. The Commons consists of the county library, the new historical museum, the county extension center, and the new Kiowa County Kansas Media Center.  The new Twilight Theater should be completed in 2012.
