Attractions and Recreation

Morton county is home to the Cimarron National Grasslands, which brings wildlife enthusiasts, especially bird watchers, from across the country. Here you can find pronghorns, several species of birds and several species of amphibians. There is also a fishing pond, hiking and campsites in the area. The annual Grassland Heritage Festival helps educate the public about the area’s natural assets, including the grasslands. Other outdoor activities include a nine-hole golf course, Point Rock Golf Club, as well as hunting and fishing. To find out more information, click here.

The Morton County Historical Museum has exhibits that depict the history of Morton county. It was designated in 1996 as an official interpretive facility for the Santa Fe Historical Trail by the National Parks Service.
