Attractions and Recreation
Osborne county has several recreational opportunities for the outdoor enthusiasts. Osborne Country Club Golf Course and Shady Bend Golf Course both offer public nine-hole golf courses. Four area lakes are within 40 miles of Osborne. Waconda Lake and Glen Elder State Park
offer fishing, swimming, boating, biking and hiking. Kirwin Reservoir
is a 5,000 acre lake that offers fishing for walleye, white bass, crappie and channel catfish. Wilson State Park
has cabins available to rent as well as several camping sites. There is a marina and bait and tackle shop for all of your fishing and boating needs as well as biking and hiking trails. Webster State Park
offers more than 70 campsites along with bird watching and hunting. It’s located in the central flyway and is a stopping point for many species of waterfowl and shorebirds.
And don’t miss the Osborne County Historical Museum. Along with a large collection of Indian artifacts they also have an authentic one room school house built in 1912.
