Goodland and Sherman County, are known as “The Pheasant Capital of the World” with the entire state of Kansas being among the top three pheasant harvest states in the Nation. The area is also popular for hunting coyote, wild turkey, antelope and deer.  For the golfer, there’s Sugar Hill Golf Course. This 18-hole course has a club house and full service restaurant.

Goodland is also home to the High Plains Museum and Carnegie Arts Center. The High Plains Museum is a local history museum with artifacts representing 100 years of Sherman county history. The Carnegie Arts Center hosts exhibits of local artists, workshops, recitals and concerts.
