Broadband Assessment Residential Survey

The Kansas Department of Commerce is conducting research to assess broadband availability and utilization across Kansas.  We are sending you this annual survey to families across Kansas and will help in completing critical research that measures how individuals are using the Internet. The research will be used to help develop strategies to make Kansas and especially your community a better place to live and more competitive.

The survey is designed to help the state address current and future technology needs—and help us develop strategies to help attract further broadband investment. Access to first class telecommunications connectivity, whether in rural or non-rural communities, is our ‘on-ramp’ to the digital highway and economic prosperity.

A third-party vendor, Strategic Networks Group (SNG), has been commissioned to conduct this survey and your information will not be used to sell you anything. SNG will report results only in aggregate to the state. All of your answers will remain confidential and no personal information is shared with any other entity.

Even if you do not currently have Internet access at home, you can complete this survey from anyplace that does, such as a public library. Completing the survey should only take about 10-20 minutes.

Your experiences and opinions are important to us, especially where adequate Internet access may be limited.

The survey can be accessed at:

If you have any questions about the survey, please send an email to .

Thank you in advance for your assistance.
